My parents bought a small toy store in Millcreek, Utah when I was three. I grew up inside it. I priced toys in the back room. I drove the van as soon as I could legally drive it. I learned to buy, to hire, to train, to merchandise, to count inventory. Working in a toy store wasn't just my job, it was the home I was raised in.

Today I’m an independent manufacturer’s sales rep covering San Diego County, Utah, and Arizona for Enchanted Moments. I am also the National Games Division Manager for Enchanted Moments. Independently, I represent four board-game vendor lines I genuinely love and I work with independent toy stores all across the country to help them pick the right titles, set them up to sell, and reorder before the shelf goes cold.

I’ve volunteered with Astra in a handful of roles over the years and currently sit on the board of directors. That work matters to me. Independents are the heart of this industry, and a healthy independent channel keeps play front and center in ways that big box stores can't.

Off the clock I’m at home in Bluffdale, Utah with my wife Kristin and our three kids — Harper, Benny, and Brooks. I collect soccer jerseys. I tinker with 3D printing. I dabble in real estate. I host a podcast called Make Time for Play where I sit down with folks in the industry and talk about keeping play in my schedule through playing games.

Here’s what I’m good for: I have been in your shoes. I know what a slow Tuesday on a toy store floor feels like.
